Application Streamlining (ASI)
Application Streamlining is the program to categorize, evaluate, and improve the assets Cornell knows as IT applications. The Application Streamlining Initiative (ASI) will document the cost of each application and develop a recommendation for the future of that application based upon the cost and institutional benefit.
There are two basic components of Application Streamlining:
- Application Portfolio Management
- Application Rationalization
Application Portfolio Management will inventory, categorize, and determine the value proposition for all applications.
Application Rationalization will recommend a set of projects that will improve the portfolio by retiring, consolidating, or updating the technology of the applications.
